The name on the company sign says it all: "SÖHNGEN - Protecting Life" really does save lives, because the Taunusstein-based
company is a specialist in first aid, wound care and emergency medical equipment. Figurehead of the
company are the eye-catching orange cases with the inscription "First Aid" or the aluminum vaporized dressing material aluderm®, which really everyone knows and which are an absolute must-have in many areas of life. Whether in kindergartens, workplaces, public buildings, or emergency services, the practical cases contain many medical products that can provide first aid or even save lives in an emergency.

As a provider of first aid and emergency medical material, it is a matter of course for W.Söhngen GmbH that we donate urgently needed relief supplies in the current situation in Ukraine and on the escape routes.

RELIEF SUPPLIES FOR UKRAINE

As a supplier of first aid and emergency medical supplies, it is a matter of course for W.Söhngen GmbH that we donate urgently needed relief supplies in the current situation in Ukraine and on the escape routes to donate urgently needed relief supplies.
In cooperation with Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e. V. we have started a large aid shipment to Ukraine on Wednesday, 24.03.2022, with which we want to support especially the medical staff in the war zone. The donation includes more than one ton of relief supplies such as fixation bandages, infusion accessories, disposable cannulas and syringes, and disposable protective gloves.
&#8220;We are glad to be able to make a contribution to support the relief workers in the crisis area. We thank the team of Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. Wiesbaden for their dedication and tireless commitment,&#8221; said Pascal Arnold, Marketing Manager.
Already at the beginning of the month, we donated further pallets with dressing materials, rescue blankets, disposable underwear, disposable gloves as well as emergency medical material for the supply of refugees to the Hungarian-Ukrainian border via our supplier for first aid kits.
Together with other local companies and under the patronage of the mayor of Taunusstein, Sandro Zehner, we sent three more pallets with wound compresses, dressing materials, gauze bandages, wound plasters, rescue blankets, pillows and quilts to the Polish-Ukrainian border. On site, some of the relief supplies were used directly to care for refugees, as well as being transported onward to Ukraine, depending on need. The unloaded vehicles were then used to transport refugees from the border to Taunusstein. For this purpose, we complied with the request of the city of Taunusstein for two dozen Euro pallets, which are now being used to build furniture for the initial reception. Our great thanks go to the many helpers who are tirelessly working for the people in need in Ukraine and at the borders!

When the full extent of the catastrophe became clear in the following days, it was therefore quickly clear to us that we wanted to support the residents of the region and the countless relief workers with what we do best: First aid products. After all, the risk of injury during the cleanup work is high in view of the huge mountains of rubble and destroyed houses. On 27.07.2021, large quantities of dressing materials in the form of compresses, bandages, plasters and other material for wound care left our warehouse in Taunusstein by SÖHNGEN® truck for Ahrweiler. There, the relief supplies were handed over to the German Red Cross Sinzig e.V. local association.

The situation on the ground is made even more difficult by the increased risk of Corona infection. That is why we have supplemented our aid delivery with important items such as FFP2 masks, Corona rapid tests and hand disinfection for the relief workers and the people in the emergency shelters.

Through a Facebook post by the Hohenstein mayor, Daniel Bauer, employees of W.Söhngen GmbH from Taunusstein quickly became aware of the brazen theft. 

Emergency backpack stolen! SÖHNGEN® donates new emergency backpack

During the night of February 20 to 21, an emergency backpack worth €2,200 was stolen from an ambulance at the rescue station in Hohenstein-Breithardt. Through a Facebook post by the Hohenstein mayor, Daniel Bauer, employees of W.Söhngen GmbH from Taunusstein quickly became aware of the brazen theft. The company has been producing and selling products for first aid and emergency medicine, including emergency backpacks, for almost 100 years and knows about the enormous importance of such equipment. For Christoph Hirschmann, Managing Director of W.Söhngen GmbH, and his team, it is therefore immediately clear that they must support Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e. V. in this situation. &#8220;We were all shocked by this news! Emergency medicine is, of course, exactly our field of expertise. There was no doubt about helping the neighboring community here as a Taunusstein company!&#8221;, says Christoph Hirschmann, Managing Director of W.Söhngen GmbH. Matthias Schirmer, Project Manager Advertising &amp; Communication, adds: &#8220;As a citizen of the community of Hohenstein, it is enormously important to me that safety is maintained in my own community! Not only for me, but also for all my neighbors. I heard the news with horror and of course immediately committed myself to support here.&#8221; On Thursday, 25.02.2021, Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e. V. was therefore presented with a fully equipped PROFiL emergency backpack from SÖHNGEN® for emergency treatment. Ulf Weyer from Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e. V. and Mayor Daniel Bauer agree: &#8220;We are very grateful for the quick, unexpected help from SÖHNGEN®. However, it should never have happened in the first place that someone would steal something as important as an emergency backpack.&#8221;

2021 THERE IS MORE IN IT - Upgrade now!

As of 01.11.2021, the new specifications of DIN 13157 and DIN 13169 (small and large first-aid kits and first-aid kits for companies) apply. In the future, both fills will contain even more dressing materials for minor injuries in the workplace. This should ensure even better wound care.

Nothing has been dropped from the &#8220;old&#8221; filling! New additions are face masks and wet wipes. The number of available plasters has also increased.
Existing first aid kits or first aid kits do not lose their validity. With our supplementary sets, you can quickly and easily add to your existing equipment. Professional tip: Use the update right away to check your first aid equipment. In the download area you will find the tables of contents of our products.
If you need a completely new filling, they are of course up to date. Look at the invoice date! We have already changed our production to 11.10.2021. All products, which are equipped according to DIN 13157 and DIN 13169 or are based on these specifications, will be delivered according to the latest specification since then. This also applies to our extended series such as SPEZIAL, DIREKT &amp; EXTRA.
